get someone to hook you up with some bootleg dvd shows, you'll find a lot of great shows not released by the dead floating around like sunshine daydream and others.might not be the greatest quality but the shows are sweet.

I agree with Tigerbolt, the bootlegs are wonderful. I am not the biggest fan of the SSDD DVD because of the quality, but http://setlists.net/?show_id=0767 this is on ntsc dvd and it's great..

as for commercial releases.. View from the Vault IV, The GD Movie for sure... it really encapsulates the scene as I would think it might have been like.. Winterland is -OK-... The second disc is really great, and the scarlet>fire and the sugar mags opener on the first disc is awesome. I have all the view from the vault dvds and they are alright too.. some are better than others. IIRC , the view from the vault I disc is my least favourite I think. If he likes gospel type stuff, he should check out JGB @ Shoreline, that's a fun one. Downhill From Here (China>Rider) is really good too... And so is Truckin' Up to Buffallo (All Along the Watchtower>Morning Dew).. I wasn't the biggest fan of eh.. the New Years Eve '89.. It had some funny intermissions and bonus features though.

There are secret interviews in a lot of the dvds.. but I don't have the link right now
